Little Kobe Japanese Market

Custom e-commerce with a video-game soul.

Little Kobe Japanese Market
/01 — THE BRIEF

The client wanted a fully custom online store with a Japanese video-game aesthetic, integrated delivery pricing, and an admin panel non-technical staff could easily run.

/02 — THE APPROACH

No templates. The visual direction calls back to Game Boy and Japanese konbini culture, custom fonts, a konbini storefront in the header, three rounds of revisions with the client to lock the look.

On the functional side: a custom checkout with a Google Maps pin drop that calculates boda delivery in real time, a Zustand-powered basket, Pesapal payment integration, and WhatsApp plus email notifications to both the shopkeeper and the customer the moment an order lands.

The admin panel is password-protected and built around the staff using it daily. Sanity handles rich product content with drag-and-drop images and categories. Inventory tracks min-stock thresholds. Sales reports run by date range. Store-hours toggles, a diagnostics tab for WhatsApp and database health checks, and a written guide for non-technical staff.
